🔭 Wonderer’s Log #015: Expedition Forward With Wonder - Arc of Open Palms - The Odyssey of the Wild Truth

This is where my mind, heart, and action converge - footprints on a shared journey.

So that together we can explore and share what it means to be human - with curiosity, connection, purpose, and care.

✨ Summary

This expedition has been a journey of self-discovery and growth. I've been reflecting on the things that bring me joy and fulfillment, and I've been trying to prioritise them in my daily life. I've also been practicing self-care and self-compassion, and I've been trying to create space for rest and relaxation. One of the biggest insights I've had is the importance of setting boundaries and prioritising my own needs. I've realised that I don't have to say yes to everything, and that it's okay to say no to things that don't align with my values or goals. I've also been thinking about the stories I tell myself about my limitations, and how I can challenge them. I've been trying to cultivate a sense of curiosity and wonder, and I've been exploring new ways of being and living.

🌱 Expedition’s Wisdoms

Cultivate Curiosity and Wonder - Approaching life with a sense of curiosity and wonder can help you stay engaged, motivated, and inspired, and can lead to new discoveries and experiences. Challenge Limiting Beliefs - The stories you tell yourself about your limitations can hold you back from achieving your goals and pursuing your dreams, and it's essential to challenge and reframe them to unlock your full potential. Embrace Rest and Reflection - Taking time to rest and reflect can help you recharge, gain new insights, and make progress towards your goals, and is an essential part of a healthy and balanced life.

🔍 Pattern Noticed: I've noticed a pattern that when I prioritise my own needs and take care of myself, I'm more productive, creative, and fulfilled. I've also noticed that when I'm feeling overwhelmed and stressed, it's often because I've taken on too much and neglected my own needs.

💡 Questions I’m Sitting With:

  • What are the things that bring me joy and fulfillment, and how can I prioritise them in my daily life?

  • How can I continue to cultivate a sense of curiosity and wonder in my daily life?

  • What are the stories I tell myself about my limitations, and how can I challenge them?

🌗 Effort & Practice Reflections

🧍‍♂️ Personal & Pursuits & Presence

  • Released a new article on my blog

  • Started a new project at work

  • Practiced yoga and meditation daily

  • Spent quality time with loved ones

  • Took a break from social media to focus on self-care.

🟢 What I Navigated Well - I navigated a difficult conversation with a colleague by staying calm and listening actively, which helped me to understand their perspective and find a resolution. I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment in being able to handle the situation effectively, and it reminded me of the importance of effective communication in building strong relationships.

🟡 Where I Lost the Map (But Found Myself) - I lost my way when I took on too much at work and neglected my own needs, which led to burnout and exhaustion. However, this experience taught me the importance of prioritizing self-care and setting boundaries, and I was able to forgive myself for not being perfect and for making mistakes. I realized that it's okay to ask for help and that taking care of myself is essential to being able to show up fully in my life and work.

🔴 The Crash Site Report (With Kind Debrief) - I experienced a setback when I didn't meet a deadline, which was frustrating and disappointing. However, I was able to reframe the experience as an opportunity to learn and grow, and I practiced self-compassion by acknowledging that mistakes are a natural part of the learning process. I forgave myself for not being perfect and for making mistakes, and I'm moving forward by breaking down larger tasks into smaller, more manageable steps and prioritizing my tasks more effectively. I'm also reminding myself that it's okay to make mistakes and that I can always learn from them.
