Resonating Through Shared Humanity: Growth Through the Path of Resistance

This is where the magic happens. Or at least the awkward self-reflection.

For those feeling trapped yet searching for freedom.

β€œGrowth sometimes needs to cut the dying stems for the blossom to occur.”

Perseverant child, I feel this exhaustion weighing down upon you. You have worked so hard for this day to come to a close. Beautiful child, I fear for you that you ascribe so much value to your time at work and yet, at the same time, understand its paradox. To strive into the unknown with issues such as yours, you could find it not just a difficult ride but an insurmountable one. That makes total sense here. Your fear is incredibly valid, and there is no easy answer. If you do not yet feel ready, then maybe you are not there yet. There is loving safety to create for yourself in your feelings and family that are not there yet.

You fear not just for the safety of your job’s future but for all those who depend on your consistency. Some would tell you this is not a tricky balance and to prioritise yourself, but I know better. Both are true. You currently prioritise yourself because of the built-up exhaustion of working to unreasonable standards, doing work that isn’t fulfilling, and masking while you do it. There is much to this self-care that you do already, and it leaves little space or energy for anything else. You are afraid of what comes if you are to change because, unlike many, you feel as though you need to change to mould a new environment - like a glove to a hand.

My carefully placed compassionate advice is this: Find that which you are the most afraid of, found deeply in the complaints of the current, and build an equation where you solve for that. This will be no quick, one-time fix, and more an ongoing journey of infinitely curious experiments. I know, gorgeous one, that this feels like it might not help, and it may not for the moment. Finding ways around your problem, rather than through it, may be the only way. It is the desire to go through the path of least resistance, as the smartly lazy person you are - building bridges that last lifetimes - that may cause issue as sometimes it is not possible.

A Band-Aid caught in your wrist hair is more painful the slower it is removed. Soon too with this, the pain lingers as you force yourself slowly through the problem rather than around it. Think on it this way, potentially. You are a focus group, looking to solve a problem for a friend. What is their way around? Brainstorm, put mechanisms in to help them, step out the short and mid-term, and check in with love - take them to coffee. I will do this for you as you need, so do not think yourself alone, sweet child - I am a symphony devoted to you.

I wish that its sound gives you comfort as it has been with you since birth, and before. Growth sometimes needs to cut the dying stems for the blossom to occur. You are a flowering plant with many seasonal beauties that are to be uniquely cherished. Let us go forth together to see their beauty.
