Relate, Reflect and Ruminate: Gasping
Because sometimes, emotions donβt fit into bullet points and I have a flare for the dramatic.
For those who drift alone in a crowded world, quietly asking if anyone notices.
The day begins, or does it?
What I look at exists, but I do not see
My body amorphous, a single entity
Alone it stands in the webs of the universe
Not a suffering loneliness, a feeling of singular inevitability
Connection lost from the satellites surrounding life
Voice lost to the milieu of the world
Intellectually I am lost from feeling
Emotively I am lost from perception
Perceptively it is as though I do not exist
I hear the words from for the crowd
Loving advice that cuts my already bleeding heart
From this there is no recovery save the surrendered breath.
I must not seek to end it all
Desire and resistance only driving the knife deeper
The cleaner the cut, the easier the heal
Calm I must be to the exclusion of all else
Flowing with the rivers of pain
To reach conclusion
ποΈ Three Paths to Make This Yours - Unlock Your Understanding:
How would I navigate the weight of emotional disconnection from myself and the world?
π§ The Thinkerβs Path: I would analyse the dissonance between mind and emotion to find clarity in the chaos.
π§ Journal daily to explore the exact moments I stop feeling and what thoughts take over.
πΏ The Wandererβs Path: I would surrender to the flow of experience and listen for the subtle cues of aliveness.
πΏ Take a solo walk with no destination, observing what sensations and memories arise
π₯ The Challengerβs Path: I would rebel against emotional numbness by seeking moments that disrupt the silence and make me feel.
π₯ Interrupt my autopilot by doing something wildly uncharacteristic just to see how it feels.
The truth is simple and hard: Youβre always one choice away from a new path.
