Navigate the Wonders of What Vulnerability Means to Us - Strength in Vulnerability
Welcome, Fellow Wonderer to Thought Voyager!
This time, weβre diving into the Fostering a Strength in Vulnerability.
Thanks for joining me on this voyage of reflection and consideration seeking out the wisdom in what has passed and what is to come. Below are some collected and themed insights so that we can resonate on the same wavelength and dive into our collective journey from problems to personal growth.

π§ Heading Reflections
βWithout vulnerability, we are just squabbling children β not taking responsibility for the harm we inflict while complaining that the world and its occupants have slighted us and should be different.β
βVulnerability is a strength because it always generates and creates β it creates revenue through marketing, it creates masterpieces through art, and it creates connected relationships through non-violent and effective communication. Through creation, the world grows.β
βVulnerability is the art of being non-threatening through openly sharing your humanity and how you are humbled by it. If delivered without expectation of reciprocity, you can leverage the greatest force in our world, collaboration. This cannot be achieved through forced complicity using privilege as power β it requires a shared humanity through our deepest needs.β
β¨ Wisdom of the Greats
βVulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage arenβt always comfortable, but theyβre never weaknesses." β BrenΓ© Brown
βWe are at our most powerful the moment we no longer need to be powerful." β Eric Michaβel Leventhal
βTo share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength." β Criss Jami
π₯ Discovery Challenges
Challenge
Imagine you are someone who is happy taking the greatest risks in the world (Carpe Diem/YOLO/No Regrets), identify one area of your life where true emotional vulnerability scares you.
Reflection Prompts
"The conflicts in my life can be resolved with vulnerabilityβ
"What would happen if I were to try and force my most defensive friend to do something they didnβt want to do? What if you told them what the action would mean to you and why it is important?
"What do I see as the lowest risk way of practicing to be vulnerable?β
βοΈ Voyagerβs Toolkit
π§ͺ Voyager's Catalyst
How We Feel App - This app leverages the evidence-based "Mood Meter" tool to expand your emotional vocabulary while enabling you to track your emotions alongside factors like weather, exercise, and sleep. My dad and I both use it as a way to share how we're feeling, fostering mutual understanding and support when needed. (Google Play, Apple Apps)
πVoyagerβs Bookshelf (Peruse my Bookshelf)
What you consume becomes your attitude and behaviours.
Currently Reading: The Great Mental Models, Volume 4: Economics and Art by Shane Parrish (Amazon)
What I am liking is the way that Shane Parrish presents different patterns that you can observe in different domains, there is a deep consideration for the questions that arise as part of the patterning and it is those questions that can be applied to other domains.
Previous Readings: Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott (Amazon)
What I liked is the way that Anne gives you permission to see stories everywhere in life and provides you with encouragement that things can be build slowly and with intention if you know where to look β and she tells you where you look.
For People Who: Want to understand how experience can be used to offer a reflection of your humanity.
